The Secret is Out --- Des Moines Is A Great Place To Live!

It’s official: Forbes magazine loves Des Moines.The business publication has named the metro area the No. 1 place to raise a family.This is no shocker, of course. The big news came in April, when Forbes named Des Moines the No. 1 place for businesses and careers. 

In the family category, Harrisburg-Carlisle, Pa., was second, and Rochester, N.Y., was third. East Coast cities, including Syracuse, Buffalo and Pittsburgh, dominated the list.

Des Moines came out on top with top 10 rankings for education, commuting times, and home ownership. Other criteria considered: cost of living, crime, household income and homeowner costs.

Last month, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine put Des Moines No. 7 on the “10 Best Cities for the Next Decade.”
